FAQs
What kind of clay do you use?
I work predominantly in stoneware clay, so unless otherwise stated, this is what your piece will be made from. I use a variety of clays within this category, but the different colours are all still stoneware, and when fired, are fired to vitrification (meaning they’re non porous).
How long will my order take to arrive?
I aim to dispatch items as soon as I can- but ask for you to allow 3 working days for dispatch of in stock items. For events like Super Seconds, please allow 5 working days for dispatch of goods.
For preorder items, lead time will be advised on the listing, but is subject to confirmation via email. If you do not receive confirmation via email, do get in touch.
Lead times for preorders are subject to change at any time but I will always advise if there is to be an extension. I do everything I can to avoid this, but sometimes ceramics make the decisions for me!
How do you ship your items?
I ship using Royal Mail 24 or 48 hr services, so I can know where your things are in transit, and so that in the rare event of parcels being lost, we can do something about it. I package very thoroughly, because I want your items to arrive in tip tip condition! Shipping costs are calculated by weight, and in the event of postage costing me much less than you’ve paid, I will endeavour to refund the difference. Shipping ceramics is an expensive business due to all the packaging materials involved and the space around products to protect from impact , so please know I’m not trying to overcharge, I just want good to arrive safely!
If a piece does arrive damaged, do let me know via email potterandclayuk@gmail.com and we’ll go from there.
Will you ship internationally?
I am happy to ship internationally, and am in the process of updating the website to reflect this- but in the meantime do email potterandclayuk@gmail.com and I’ll be happy to quote for shipping outside the UK.
Do you offer refunds/accept returns?
I reserve the right to consider refunds/returns on a case by case basis- as I really want my customers to be very happy with their purchases, and also need to make sure the process is a fair one! For custom orders, I will not accept returns, and will not provide any refund on the basis of a change of preference. If a piece is damaged in transit, this is a slightly different scenario.
If you have any problems at all, do please email potterandclayuk@gmail.com and we will go from there. I will mostly likely issue a credit note/voucher for my online shop, but as previously stated I will consider this on a case by case basis.
